Tech Hub

Tech Hub serves as the central coordination hub for platform development, infrastructure management, and all technical activities

Welcome to the Tech-Hub on GitLab! This central hub serves as the backbone for collaboration across various teams. From planning and organizing our work to managing documentation, applications, and incidents, each subgroup plays a crucial role.

Key Features

Access Control: Only designated owners and maintainers can create new groups within the Tech-Hub. This ensures centralized management and coordination of technical activities. See How to create a group and How to maintain a group.

Project Creation: Members who are owners of specific sub-groups can create projects within their respective sub-groups. If you're an owner of a sub-group and have a specific project in mind, you can initiate its creation directly within your sub-group's page in the Tech-Hub. However, if you require a dedicated project outside of your group's score or need assistance in setting up a project, please see How to create a project.

Using the Tech-Hub

To make the most out of the Tech-Hub, follow these guidelines:

Group Organization: Ensure that your group is well-organized with clear hierarchies of sub-groups and projects. Groups must follow these requirements to fully comply with the Tech-Hub contribution guidelines.

Project Creation: If you're an owner of a specific sub-group and wish to initiate a new project, navigate to your sub-group's page within the Tech-Hub and click on the "New Project" button. Provide relevant details such as project name, description, visibility level, and initialization options.

Collaboration: Encourage collaboration and communication among project members by leveraging GitLab's features such as issues, merge requests, comments, and discussions. Use these channels to discuss ideas, provide feedback, and coordinate tasks within the Tech-Hub projects.

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation within each project to facilitate onboarding, knowledge sharing, and continuity of development efforts. Document project objectives, architecture, design decisions, coding standards, and usage guidelines to ensure clarity and consistency.

Code Review: Adhere to best practices for code review by conducting thorough reviews of merge requests submitted by project contributors. Use GitLab's review tools to provide feedback, address concerns, and ensure the quality and integrity of the codebase.

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement CI/CD pipelines within projects to automate build, test, and deployment processes. Configure pipelines to run tests, perform code analysis, and deploy changes to staging or production environments seamlessly.
